RFC 1918 - Address Allocation for Private Internets

Status of this Memo
This document specifies an Internet Best Current Practices for the    Internet Community, and requests discussion and suggestions for    improvements.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
1. Introduction
For the purposes of this document, an enterprise is an entity    autonomously operating a network using TCP/IP and in particular    determining the addressing plan and address assignments within that    network.
This document describes address allocation for private internets. The    allocation permits full network layer connectivity among all hosts    inside an enterprise as well as among all public hosts of different    enterprises. The cost of using private internet address space is the    potentially costly effort to renumber hosts and networks between    public and private. Add a comment

RFC 4942 - IPv6 Transition/Coexistence Security Considerations

Abstract

The transition from a pure IPv4 network to a network where IPv4 and
IPv6 coexist brings a number of extra security considerations that
need to be taken into account when deploying IPv6 and operating the
dual-protocol network and the associated transition mechanisms.  This
document attempts to give an overview of the various issues grouped
   into three categories:
o  issues due to the IPv6 protocol itself,
o  issues due to transition mechanisms, and
o  issues due to IPv6 deployment. Add a comment

RFC 3513 - Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Addressing Architecture

Abstract

This specification defines the addressing architecture of the IP
Version 6 (IPv6) protocol.  The document includes the IPv6 addressing
model, text representations of IPv6 addresses, definition of IPv6
unicast addresses, anycast addresses, and multicast addresses, and an
   IPv6 node's required addresses. Add a comment

Status of this Memo

This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the    Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for    improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet    Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state    and status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.

RFC 7123 – Security Implications of IPv6 on IPv4 Networks

What are the security issues around IPv6 support and IPv6 transition mechanisms on an IPv4-only network?  Could the unplanned and perhaps even unknown support of IPv6 by operating systems introduce additional security concerns into an enterprise network?

In an Informational RFC 7123 published in February 2014, Fernando Gont and Will Liu explore the security implications of native IPv6 support and also of IPv6 tunneling mechanisms.  They walk through the different transition mechanisms, explain potential security issues and outline ways to potentially mitigate the security concerns.  The document is available at:

http://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc7123

The introduction of the document gives a taste of what the rest of the document covers:
